The product brief

Make the ledger simple. Keep the system serious.

The central design problem was not adding more accounting screens. It was keeping a familiar khata workflow fast while giving users cloud backup, customer-level history, clearer balances, and a path into advanced reporting without disrupting daily work.

A familiar daily model

Customers, debit entries, credit entries, payments, and running balances stay close to the way businesses already think about a khata.

Clarity before complexity

The dashboard answers what was given, what was received, what is still outstanding, and which accounts need attention.

Product-grade foundations

Authentication, cloud-backed records, installable PWA behavior, premium access, payments, email, and admin operations support the UI.

  1. 01

    Choose a workspace

Enter the active Personal Ledger workspace or preview the separate business direction.

  2. 02

    Add customers

Capture contact details and opening balances without a long accounting setup.

  3. 03

    Record movement

Add debit and credit entries as business happens and keep a customer-wise history.

  4. 04

    Act on the ledger

Review balances, export reports, find risk, and send payment reminders when needed.

The product experience

Four surfaces, one connected ledger.

Each view is drawn from the product that exists in this workspace, including what is available now and what is deliberately staged for later.

01 · Dashboard

See the business position before opening a customer account.

The dashboard combines total given, total received, net receivable, movement trends, top balances, and recent activity. A financial-year filter keeps the overview useful as records grow.

  • Debit, credit, and net balance at a glance
  • Customer balance and transaction drill-downs
  • Direct actions for customers and ledger entries

02 · Workspace selection

Keep personal ledgers and business accounting conceptually separate.

Users choose a workspace after sign-in. Personal Ledger is the active product for customers, transactions, reports, and reminders. Business Accounting has its own route and product direction, but is clearly marked as coming soon.

03 · Premium reports

Move from record keeping to collection decisions.

Premium reports use the same ledger data to surface cashflow forecasts, customer health, risk amounts, collection efficiency, and next actions. Reports can be filtered, shared, and exported as PDF or Excel.

  • Customer, date-range, type, and search filters
  • Customer health and collection priority
  • Configurable PDF and Excel exports

04 · Mobile experience

The complete ledger, not a reduced companion app.

The responsive PWA carries dashboard metrics, charts, customer history, transactions, reports, reminders, settings, and account security into a touch-friendly layout that works from a phone without maintaining a separate mobile codebase.

  • Responsive navigation and data layouts
  • Installable PWA with update handling
  • App lock, theme controls, and secure sessions
Current product depth

Free where daily work happens. Premium where analysis begins.

The plan boundary is part of the product design: core record keeping remains useful on its own, while premium unlocks deeper exports, filters, forecasting, and follow-up tools.
